“Your national holiday is a tribute to brave patriots, the Polish people fighting for independence. With the unity of the nation, Poland returned to the world map after one hundred and twenty-three years, and took part in the shaping of Europe’s fate as an independent state. It makes me happy to know that Hungary, too, was able to contribute to achieving Polish independence in the 20th century,” Mr Orbán wrote.
He added that in the time since, the alliance between Hungary and Poland has strengthened further, and now stands ready to jointly respond to the challenges of our time against ideologies that question the sovereignty of our countries and our traditional values.
At the end of his celebratory message, Mr Orbán reassured Mr Morawiecki that the Polish people can continue to rely on Hungary’s commitment in the interest of the attainment of the two nations’ common goals.
