At the meeting – which was also attended by Minister Katalin Novák and Members of the European Parliament Enikő Győri and Jorge Buxadé – the parties spoke about their common concepts regarding the future of Europe, including the protection of borders, national sovereignty and families, and joint action by the European Right against the globalist Left. At the talks, the party presidents reviewed the upcoming steps that are necessary to combine the forces of European conservative parties, Mr Havasi reported.
Vox is a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament and maintains close relations with Fidesz. At the Wednesday meeting, the parties highlighted that the representatives of Vox always stand up for Hungary in Brussels, and also raised their voice when the European Parliament’s LIBE Committee conducted investigations in Budapest.
The press chief recalled that most recently, on 3 November, Mr Orbán had talks via video conference with President of the Italian Lega Nord Matteo Salvini and Vice President of the Polish Law and Justice party (PiS)-Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki about the formation of a new European political alliance.
On 3 and 4 December, at the invitation of PiS, the President of Fidesz will pay a visit to Warsaw where representatives of the right-wing parties that signed the July joint declaration have been invited from all over Europe by the Polish governing party.
