Prime Minister Viktor Orbán receives Foreign Minister of Serbia

Head of the Prime Minister’s Press Office Bertalan Havasi has told miniszterelnok.hu that “On Monday afternoon Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Ivica Dačić, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, in the Parliament Building”. Mr. Havasi added that “The main topics of the meeting were the migration crisis in Europe and Serbia’s EU accession”.
Earlier the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, who also held a meeting with Foreign Minister Dačić, announced that Hungary is supporting Serbia’s border protection with twenty police officers, because there is a real danger that another wave of immigration could set off through the Western Balkans.
Mr. Szijjártó said that “It is Hungary’s firm standpoint that Serbia is ready for EU membership, and it is in Hungary’s interests for Serbia to become a member of the European Union as soon as possible; this is in the interests of both the Hungarian community living there and in our security interests”.
