Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s condolences offered to Indonesian President

Mr Orbán wrote he was shocked to learn about the earthquake and the ensuing tsunami. On behalf of the Hungarian people he offered his condolences to families of the victims, and wished those injured in the disaster a swift recovery.

“We pay tribute to the heroic efforts of the Indonesian authorities whose members are tirelessly searching for survivors even now. I wish to take this opportunity to confirm that Indonesia can rely on Hungary’s support during the recovery efforts to deal with the consequences of the disaster”, the Prime Minister’s letter dated 29 September reads.

Minimum 832 people died in the earthquake and the ensuing tsunami that hit the island of Sulawesi on Friday, while hundreds more were injured. Many people still remain unaccounted for.
