We have a good chance to win in EU budget debate

Hungary and Poland have a good chance to win in the European Union’s budgetary debate regarding the rule of law conditionality planned to be tied to the pay-out of community funds if things continue to head in the right direction in the days ahead, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Tuesday evening in Warsaw after he had talks with his Polish counterpart Mateusz Morawiecki.

In line with the position communicated during the EU summit this July and in accordance with the veto power laid out in the EU Treaties, the Hungarian Government exercised its veto over the EU's budgetary legislative package.
