Government to defend reductions in household utility bills

In an interview on Kossuth Rádió on Friday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the Government will not allow Brussels to phase out statutory fixed energy prices. The phasing out of statutory fixed prices from the European energy system would mean the end of reductions in household utility bills.

The constitutional amendment is a national cause, and cannot be linked to party political debates

On Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that “The Seventh Amendment to the Fundamental Law of Hungary is an issue of national interest and cannot be linked to any party political debate or economic issue”.
