Primacy of EU law can only apply to areas where European Union has competence

On Saturday morning, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán signed a government resolution which welcomes the decision adopted by the Polish constitutional court about the relationship between national law and the law of the European Union, and simultaneously calls upon the institutions of the EU to respect the sovereignty of Member States, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday.

In the Parliament Building, after Members of Parliament voted to amend the Labour Code, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told journalists that important and good legislation has been created. He said that it includes provision for voluntarily changing working hours and overtime.
