On Thursday afternoon in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received President of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) Ronald S. Lauder after his guest attended the opening of the synagogue in Rumbach Sebestyén utca in Budapest, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

On Friday Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, informed the Hungarian news agency MTI that a recent public statement by President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder – on relocation of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) from Budapest to Berlin – is deeply offensive to Hungary and its citizens. Mr. Havasi said that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has written to Mr. Lauder regarding the matter.
