Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to nominate Attila Mihály Nagy to head election office
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán recommends the appointment of Attila Mihály Nagy, Deputy State Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Justice as the president of the National Election Office to President of the Republic János Áder effective from 15 September, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.
Ilona Pálffy, President of the National Election Office, resigned effective from 31 August.
Pursuant to the Act on Electoral Procedures, the president of the National Election Office is appointed by the President of the Republic at the Prime Minister’s recommendation.
Mr Havasi said the Prime Minister took action for the release from the office of deputy state secretary of the candidate for president on 14 September.
