According to the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, the meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Mihály Varga, at whose invitation the head of the international organisation, which comprises 38 developed nations, is on an official visit to Hungary.
In Monday’s edition of Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet, State Secretary Gábor Gion from the Ministry of Finance said: “The arrival of the Secretary-General is an excellent opportunity for the government to explain its position with relation to the most important issues facing us, and to gain information concerning the processes and economic challenges of the near future”. He said that in his opinion, following the rebooting of the economy one of the most important issues will be climate change, and the question of how the world can switch to functioning in a carbon neutral manner.
