Development of Hungarian-German relations is of strategic importance

In a message, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for his congratulations on Fidesz’s election victory; in his message, the Hungarian Prime Minister also urged the development of relations between the two countries, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.
“Today Europe is facing challenges that make cooperation between the Member States – based on mutual respect – even more important than those experienced previously,” Mr Orbán wrote.
The Prime Minister reassured the German Chancellor that he is ready to cooperate in this spirit as he regards the development of relations between Hungary and Germany as a matter of strategic importance, Mr Havasi said, relaying the content of the message.
According to the communication published earlier on the German federal government’s official website, Olaf Scholz congratulated Mr Orbán on his repeated victory in the latest Hungarian parliamentary elections, and wished him all the very best with his tasks in the future.
