Ensuring Hungary’s energy supply and bringing sanctions energy surcharges to heel are the most important tasks

At its Wednesday meeting, the government led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán discussed energy prices, Hungary’s energy security and the tasks related to the establishment of the Ministry of Energy Affairs, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Regarding the cabinet meeting, on his social media account, Mr Orbán wrote: the Brussels sanctions have sent energy prices in Hungary sky-high. Therefore, from 1 December, a separate Ministry of Energy Affairs will assist the government’s work.

He added that ensuring Hungary’s energy supply and bringing the sanctions energy surcharges to heel were the most important tasks. This is what we are working on, the Prime Minister wrote.
