Hungarian-Russian summit in Moscow announced officially

In the afternoon of February 1, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin as part of a working visit in the Kremlin, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. On Monday, Press Secretary for the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov announced the visit to Russian journalists.

Mr Havasi recalled that despite the negative impacts of the coronavirus, the two parties have succeeded in continuing Hungarian-Russian economic projects, several of which will feature on the agenda of the summit. Mr Orbán and Mr Putin will also discuss the most important international affairs.

Both Mr Havasi and Mr Peskov highlighted that the parties look upon the Moscow visit as very important with regard to the advanced status of Hungarian-Russian bilateral relations.

The press chief added that simultaneously with the meeting of Mr Orbán and Mr Putin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will also have talks.
