“We are in Moscow. We came here to attend the funeral of Mikhail Gorbachev,” Mr Orbán said in a video posted on his Facebook account, adding that at his bier they laid flowers of respect on behalf of Hungary.
“Thirty-something years ago, it took many things to free ourselves from the Soviet Union, and to free ourselves from communism, without bloodshed and human sacrifice. Without Gorbachev, that could not have happened. Surely, not as it did, without bloodshed and in peace,” the Hungarian Prime Minister said.
“We are grateful to him, this is why we came here and laid our flowers of respect. Farewell to him, may he rest in peace,” Mr Orbán said.
