Mr Domingo expressed hope that during the next term of government he would have the opportunity to visit Hungary and to continue his cooperation with talented Hungarian musicians and artists many of whom he ranks among the world’s best.
“The Hungarian people must be happy to have a leader like you who is such a great supporter of the arts and culture”, the opera singer wrote to Mr Orbán.
He highlighted that he had recently been asked to join the highly popular and successful television programme Virtuosos which invitation he was happy to accept as, he wrote, this talent programme has very similar goals to those of his World Opera Competition OPERALIA as well as of the Young Artists programmes which are hallmarked by his name in Los Angeles, Washington and Valencia.
“Our basic principle and common goals are primarily to discover new talents in the field of classical music, and to give young, aspiring artists a chance to sing opera, to conduct and to play musical instruments”, Mr Domingo wrote.
He concluded his letter by saying that he hopes to meet Mr Orbán at the FIFA World Cup to be held in the summer in Russia.
