Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with American geopolitical authority

On Tuesday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received world-renowned American professor of political science John Mearsheimer who is regarded as one of the most influential and most realist experts on international relations, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
At the informal meeting, which was also attended by Balázs Orbán, the Prime Minister’s political director, the parties primarily spoke about the causes of, events leading to and possible outcomes of the war in Ukraine. They agreed that the war in Ukraine was the most dangerous conflict of the past few decades which must be brought to a conclusion as soon as possible, Mr Havasi reported.
John Mearsheimer is the author of a number of books on foreign policy, history and the great powers who adopts a realist approach to processes in world politics and the roles and behaviours of states.
