Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Prime Minister of India

On Wednesday morning, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to thank Hungary for having taken in and made arrangements for the travel home of Indian nationals who found themselves in danger due to the war in Ukraine and fled to Hungary, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Narendra Modi said this was an exemplary deed, and reinforced friendship between the Hungarian and Indian people.

Mr Orbán reassured his Indian counterpart that if further Indian nationals arrive in the territory of Hungary from Ukraine as refugees, we will receive them as well and provide appropriate care for them.

Both prime ministers confirmed that at this time the number one priority is to reach a ceasefire in Ukraine within the shortest possible time, Mr Havasi said.
