On Thursday, Prime Minister-President of Fidesz Viktor Orbán will travel to Brussels to attend the two-day Executive Committee meeting and General Assembly of the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
He added that on this occasion the CDI will hold an extraordinary election, and according to the General Assembly’s proposal, President of Fidesz Viktor Orbán could be re-elected as Vice-President of the Centrist Democrat International.
According to Mr Havasi’s information, a proposed resolution submitted by Fidesz together with the Slovenian member party SDS about Europe’s demographic situation – based on the closing statement of the Budapest Demographic Summit – will be another important item on the agenda of the two-day meeting to be held in Brussels.
This highlights, among others, the importance of measures seeking to strengthen the traditional family model, stresses that family policy must remain within national competence, and draws attention to the fact that migration cannot serve as a means to manage demographic problems.
