Hungarian and Israeli prime ministers visit representatives of the Hungarian Jewish Community

At the invitation of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (MAZSIHISZ), Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu visited representatives of the Hungarian Jewish Community at the Dohány Street Synagogue (the Great Synagogue) in Budapest on Wednesday.
In his speech at the MAZSIHISZ headquarters, Mr. Orbán highlighted the fact that Israel and Central Europe – and Israel and Hungary – envisage a future in which they are linked by important things, such as love for the homeland and nation.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has written a letter to András Heisler, President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (MAZSIHISZ), which has been made available to the Hungarian news agency MTI by the Prime Minister’s press chief Bertalan Havasi. Mr. Orbán stated that “We shall mobilise the political and legal power of the Hungarian state against anyone who undermines the security of Hungary, regardless of their origins, religious affiliation or wealth”.

Prime Minister has talks with President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities regarding this year’s joint tasks

Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Prime Minister’s Press Office, has informed miniszterelnok.hu that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and András Heisler, President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz), met in the Parliament Building on Tuesday evening. They discussed joint tasks to be performed in 2017 and the problems and plans of the Jewish community in Hungary, including the development of the religious community’s institutions.
