The EU’s new migration proposal is unacceptable

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has taken part in talks in Sofia with Boyko Borissov, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria – which currently holds the presidency of the Council of the EU. After their talks Mr. Orbán stated that the European Union has a new migration proposal, which as it stands is unacceptable, because it continues to focus on the mandatory relocation of migrants.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Bulgarian head of government Boyko Borissov held a bilateral meeting within the framework of the China-CEEC 16+1 Summit currently being held in Budapest, head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister Bertalan Havasi said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI.

In his address, Mr. Orbán said that once again Europe’s fate is being decided at Bulgaria’s southern borders, and that the Bulgarians are not only standing up for their own country and strengthening Hungary’s security, but are defending the whole of Europe.
