In his letter, the Syrian church dignitary recalled that in the City of Homs, two Christian youth centres and 200 homes – which were destroyed during the violence that has been raging in Syria since 2011 – were refurbished with Hungarian help.
“We pray for you, and for Hungary becoming an increasingly stable shield of persecuted Christian values in the world,” the Archbishop of Homs wrote in his message sent to Mr Orbán.
Mr Havasi told MTI that the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta had been the local professional partner in the implementation of the Homs programme.
