At the meeting the ISU President expressed his respect for Hungarian sportspeople, highlighting water polo, fencing and kayak-canoe as the most successful Hungarian sports.
Mr. Cinquanta said that he looks back on the past 23 years of cooperation with the Hungarian National Skating Federation with gratitude and appreciation. He pointed out that in its selection procedures the ISU’s Presidency has chosen Hungary to host two of its international events, because the conditions in Hungary are ideal and it has good organisational skills. “The legendary Hungarian hospitality always contributes to the success of ISU’s events here. We see Budapest as the heart of Europe, and a place that athletes and their teams are equally happy to visit”, Mr. Cinquanta explained.
