“Welcome back. The future of universities is the future of Hungary. The modernisation of universities will be the most important programme of the coming years. A job that requires a person’s full attention. I reached an agreement with István Stumpf who agreed to coordinate the process of model change in higher education. István, welcome on board again,” Mr Orbán wrote in his post.
Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister, informed MTI that from 1 February, Mr Stumpf would coordinate the governmental duties related to model change in higher education and the functioning of the new operating model as a government commissioner. His activities will be overseen by the Prime Minister.
The government resolution regarding the government commissioner’s appointment and his range of responsibilities will be published in Magyar Közlöny [Hungarian Gazette] on Friday as expected, the press chief said.
