“We are proud of our police and are thankful for the work they perform. They have proven that Hungary is a safe place where crime cannot remain unpunished”, the Prime Minister said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI after receiving news of the arrest.
Mr. Orbán added that he had asked Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér to pass on his personal appreciation to the police officers involved in the investigation.
Chief Prosecutor Imre Keresztes announced at a press conference on Thursday that the Central Prosecutorial Investigation Office had remanded a young man of Hungarian nationality with no criminal record so far in custody with relation to the Teréz Körút explosion on suspicion of premeditated attempted manslaughter against multiple people and public officials and misuse of explosives.
